Overview & Role

On The Box launched as BritBox’s first flagship podcast, extending the streaming brand into audio and introducing it to audiences across podcast platforms. Hosted by Edith Bowman and Michelle Collins, the show explored British television, pop culture, and featured cast interviews and industry conversation. The brief was to create a bold identity that reflected the refreshed BritBox brand while attracting both loyal subscribers and new listeners.

Ankita led the full branding package in collaboration with internal teams and senior BritBox creative leadership. Her role covered concept development, key art, logo design, art direction, and motion oversight. She developed the identity from the ground up and directed the campaign photoshoot with talent, working closely with producers and management teams to shape casting presence, wardrobe tone, poses, and the hero prop television set. The final imagery closely matched the original concepts, helping create a cohesive launch across platforms.

Brand Development & Design

The creative direction drew from the language of 1990s television culture, reworked through a cleaner and more contemporary lens. Early development explored nostalgic TV graphics, studio idents, hardware forms, and pop-culture references, with the television set becoming the central visual device.

The final identity placed the logo inside a TV frame, turning the title into a bold stamp-like icon with immediate recognition. BritBox brand colours were carried through the system to create a clear connection to the parent platform while giving the podcast its own personality. Photography direction focused on chemistry, humour, and warmth between the hosts, resulting in assets that felt lively and inviting.

Ankita also partnered with a motion designer to direct the animated logo and intro sequence, extending the brand into moving assets for podcast platforms and social promotion. The result was a launch-ready identity that introduced BritBox into audio with clarity, character, and a strong sense of entertainment culture.
