DESCRIPTION
The Hot Dog Eating Contest is a branding concept inspired by the unmistakable character of Coney Island and the nostalgic charm of historic American carnivals. Rooted in the Fourth of July tradition and the contest’s distinctly patriotic energy, the identity draws from the visual language of early 20th-century boardwalks, creating a system that feels playful, energetic, and unmistakably American. The goal was to capture the excitement and spectacle of a classic carnival while grounding the brand in the personality and irreverence of a hot dog eating competition.

The visual system combines vintage-inspired typography, bold graphic elements, and a saturated red, white, and blue palette that nods to both American patriotism and the hot dog itself through references to sausage, ketchup, and mustard. Movement and energy are balanced with a structured, functional approach, creating a cohesive identity that can extend across the many touchpoints of the contest. The result is a visual experience designed to feel like a nostalgic trip down hot-dog lane—part Coney Island boardwalk, part all-American carnival, and entirely Brooklyn.
